Economy and Practicality of Prefabricated Steel Buildings

Drilling through metal (steel?) window frame.?
I have an older home with metal (steel?) window frames. I have plantation style blinds that I need to install, but cannot figure out how to drill through the metal window frame. The metal appears to be about 1/16" thick. I tried to find a place to drill around the window frame, but it seems the metal goes all the way up to almost the ceiling. If I am able to get through the metal, will a screw just be stripped if I try to get it through the hole? Please help.
Get good drill bit and a high powered drill. An awl, which is like an ice pick, may be required to tap a starter hole so the drill bit doesn't wander when starting to drill.
Machine screws should work ok.
