Slicker brushes are generally made from thin metal wire mounted on a soft padded material, looking somewhat like a hair brush. The soft padded material on which the wires are mouthed ensures that the dog does not get hurt as the brush is used.

i might was a friends chow and i was wondering how much i should charge. ive helped a profesianol dog groomer and i want to get payed. im just a kid and i have no alowance so i have to make $ some how. if anybody knows a nice person who needs some body to walk there dog in vancouver bc plz email me. themythical7@yahoo.ca though it has to be around mount pleasent area. ive had lots of experience and i love dogs a LOT ive always wanted a dog but our apartment doesnt alow them and we arnt the rchest of people. tytyty
well it depends on the condition of the dogs coat, if it is really matted and filthy it may need to be shaved that would be a job for a professional, if the coat is in ok condition or good condition I would strat at $30 and go up it takes me for a good conditioned chow with med length hair 21/2 hrs to bath dry , fluff,brush,nails clean ears and trim up a chow. you will be doing an at home job so it will take longer I would make sure the dog is really brushed out before the bath and use a conditioner when bathing (after shampoo) you won't have the hi-v dryer that will help in removeing the loose undercoat like we groomers use. good luck
