Some of these activities are only offered by the lodge concerned, and this will be specified - however, there are many activities on offer that you and your family can enjoy should you wish to experience something different and unique - making your Safari only more special and unique.

How to get to the Kruger National Park
South African Airways run regular flights to and from the Kruger National Park / Cape Town or Johannesburg – landing at one nearest Airports – either Hoedspruit or Kruger Mpumulanga Airport. Connect with either a Federal Air flight hop or a road transfer to your Private Game Lodge.
Federal Air's premier shuttle service flies daily from Johannesburg International Airport (OR Tambo International Airport), and Nelspruit's Kruger-Mpumalanga International Airport to selected lodges in Sabi Sands private game reserve in the Kruger National Park - allowing you an easy and trouble free journey to your lodge. There is a luggage limit on these flights of 15 kg's per person in soft sided bags.
For those travellers with more time on their hands, take a scenic drive in a hire vehicle along the Panoramic Route from Johannesburg to the Kruger National Park. This will allow you to take in the highlights in the area, such as Bourkes Luck Potholes - at your leisure. Perhaps enjoy a night in the old gold mining town of Pilgrim's Rest to break your journey !

What country in Sub Saharan Africa is the most recommended for a British Citizen to emigrate to?
Me and partner hope to move to Africa - with limited funds - to open a game reserve/lodge for tourists etc. Taking into account emigration/visas/language/cost etc which country would be best.
If I had to choose, on the basis of almost no knowledge (I've not travelled south of Egypt) I'd choose Botswana. The economy per capita is on a par with South Africa, but I think the murder rate is much lower. There's certainly a lot of wildlife there, and because of the prosperous diamond industry, you would probably be able to find any 'creature comforts' you needed locally.
It would be a good idea to check out the levels of corruption though, because as my cousin found out in Nigeria, the real cost of living must include the cost of 'oiling the wheels' if you want anything done (like building anything, or opening a business).
Whatever you do, do your research thoroughly.
