How to remove stuck-on cardboard from glass refrigerator shelves?
I accidentally left a cardboard soft drink box on the glass shelf in my refrigerator and apparently it got wet and dried, so some remains stuck on there. Is there a good way to remove this?
I've had and still have teenagers so I have been through this more than I have wanted to! The only sure fire way to remove it that I have found is to do this:
Place over the stuck-on cardboard a warm, wet towel that hasn't been completely wrung out. Leave the fridge door open so it won't get colder. Every few minutes, remove the towel and re-soak it with warmer water each time until after maybe the fourth towel (if needed) you are using as hot of water as you can tolerate. Remember to not ring out the towel entirely as you need the moisture and dampness to permeate thorough the cardboard to the glass shelf in order for it to unstick.
After about 3-5 wet towels worth or 10-12 minutes, I guarantee you it will come off. The problems is that those 10-12 mins. seem like 30! You may find a chemical solution that might shorten the process, but honestly, I've never wanted the chemicals or sprays in and around my food when I'm not doing a total clean out of my refrigerator.
