Pumpkin Carving Designs
Are you looking for the best way to make pumpkin carving designs for the entire family? There are many books and patterns that you can use to make some creative designs. If you want something truly unique, you should take a look at the instruments that you are going to use to create them.
If you want to make some good tools, get a good Exacto Knife set. This is a set of carving knives that are often used in crafts. They can be used to create fine details on the pumpkins that you create.
You should also have a large butcher knife to actually get the top of the pumpkin off so that you can clean it out as well as some long knives that can be used to poke through the tough exterior of the pumpkin. Around this time, the pumpkin will start to rot, although you can cover it with shellac and keep it for a few weeks longer.

Trying to stay fairly cheap, but I know these sets can get expensive. Any suggestions?
Really a good sharp jack knife just to get the feel......see if you really like it............I have a couple of different sets....any woodworkers mag. will have them.........you can make your own.......that would be fun...........I have some deer and elk horns for handles........or hardwoods........get a book and have some fun...........
