The New Optimus Black From LG - Coming Soon
The new LG Optimus Black is a trend setting phone, with a high quality screen and super slim chassis combining to offer as near to perfect smartphone experience as you could wish to encounter.
This model signals LG's attempts to tackle the high end of the market, rather than the mid range models where they have become firmly established. On its release, the Apple iPhone 4 became the thinnest handset available at 9.3mm, and much noise was made about this in the media. The new Optimus Black manages to shave 0.1mm off this figure to steal the crown, although there is bound to be much less publicity about the LG. The depth is not the only area where it impresses. At just 109 grammes, when you hold the phone in your hand it almost feels as if it isn't there. A downside to the lack of bulk is that the phone does feel slightly cheaper with regards to build quality, which is not true, it is just the impression that the weight gives. Looking at the phone from the front and it looks neat, but fairly similar to other Android offerings. A factor in this may be the four capacitive buttons situated below the screen. The screen measures 4", ensuring that it is the perfect size for viewing media files and web pages, as well as making the touchscreen navigation easier. The screen offers a high level of resolution at 480 x 800 pixels as well as outstanding contrast ratio thanks to the 16 million colours that it can display. Local connectivity is achieved via the micro USB port on the top of the device which allows for easy synchronisation to a laptop or pc. Bluetooth is also catered for in this model, making linking with compatible wireless products a quick and simple affair.
The camera facilities on the LG Optimus Black set a very good standard. The main camera is located on the rear of the handset and can capture a high standard of image thanks to a 5 mega pixel sensor. The camera can also take advantage of the phones GPS system to automatically geotag photographs, giving each individual snap a geographical location. Where this camera is good although fairly average for a high end phone, the front facing camera stands out from all of the competition thanks to its 2 million pixel resolution. Although the rear camera will be used in most circumstances, the front device serves its purpose well as a self portrait or video calling unit. Moving images can be filmed on the phone, with the HD 720P resolution that is on offer matching the high quality found on still shots. The Optimus Black does include a micro SD card slot, so whatever your usage needs, you can rest assured that you can perfectly match the right amount of storage to your requirements. The LG Optimus Black teams a great set of features with an eye catching look and great functionality. The result is not only one of the best looking phones available, but also one of the most user friendly.
